What does ShopMentions actually measure?
ShopMentions queries AI platforms to check if your brand appears in their recommendations. It records which brands are mentioned, in what order, and which sources are cited. This tells you how visible your brand is when buyers ask AI for product advice.
What is a credit?
One credit = one AI search query. When you run a scan with 10 prompts, that costs 10 credits. Your plan includes a monthly credit allowance that resets on your billing date. You can also purchase additional credit packs from the Billing page.
How often do scans run automatically?
Tracked keywords are re-scanned weekly (4 times per month). You can also trigger manual scans any time from the keyword history page, which costs 1 credit each.
Why does my Share of Voice change between scans?
AI responses are non-deterministic — the same query can return different results on different days. This is expected. ShopMentions shows trends over time so you can spot meaningful changes rather than reacting to single-run noise.
What is a brand scan?
A brand scan checks how AI platforms perceive your brand overall. During onboarding, ShopMentions runs a set of queries about your brand and extracts key facts, topics, sentiment, and competitive positioning. This produces your Brand Perception Score — a snapshot of your brand's presence across AI recommendations.
How does the Brand Perception Score work?
The Brand Perception Score is calculated from your brand scan results. It measures how frequently, accurately, and positively AI platforms mention your brand when asked relevant questions. The score updates each time a new brand scan runs, so you can track changes over time.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel at any time from your Shopify admin under Apps → ShopMentions → Billing. You can also uninstall the app from the Shopify App Store page, which cancels any active subscription automatically. Your data is deleted when Shopify sends the data erasure webhook, typically within 48 hours of uninstall.
My scan is stuck on "processing" — what do I do?
Scans typically complete within a few minutes. If a scan shows as "processing" for longer than 10 minutes, it will reset automatically. You can retry from the history page. If the issue persists, email support@shopmentions.com.
